SCECH\u00a0 \u00a9<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The part chosen for the cleaning was the mural depicting the two angels in the motif of the Baptism of Christ in the northern aisle in accordance with the wish from the clergy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/conservationinethiopia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/32.-reng\u00f6ringsprov.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"32. reng\u00f6ringsprov\" src=\"https:\/\/conservationinethiopia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/32.-reng\u00f6ringsprov.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"532\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h6>The face of the angel to the right in the baptismal scen appeared after cleaning in the \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 both techniques in a much\u00a0brighter and colourful way. SCECH\u00a0 \u00a9<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This was done in order to find out how heavy the dirt layers are, how strong these are attached to the painting surface, as well as to be able to calculate time for this part of the conservation. The methods used was on the one hand by cleaning off heavy layers of dust on the other dry cleaning by akabad sponge. A third cleaning technique accomplished by distiled water \u00a0mixed with a slight amount of solution has to be done in order to get rid of heavier dirt stuck to the murals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/conservationinethiopia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/13.-Carmen.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"13. Carmen\" src=\"https:\/\/conservationinethiopia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/13.-Carmen.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h6>The restorer Carmen Deas clean off dust layers built up since the 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century with a brush made<\/h6>\n<h6>by badger hair on the eastern mural in the northern aisle that made the figures and the colours in<\/h6>\n<h6>the paintings to appear in a more distinct shape. \u00a0SCECH\u00a0 \u00a9<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Laser measurering of buildings and paintings<\/h4>\n<p>The whole exterior and interior of the church and the royal palace including all architectural details was measured by laser measuring in order to establish ground plans, cross-sections and 3D drawings (CAD),\u00a0so called axonometric drawings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/conservationinethiopia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/14-Tadesse1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"14, Tadesse\" src=\"https:\/\/conservationinethiopia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/14-Tadesse1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"371\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h6>The architect Tadesse Girmay transfering laser measuring data in CAD software after conducted<\/h6>\n<h6>measuring of the nave. \u00a0SCECH\u00a0 \u00a9<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This part of the examination was conducted by the Ethiopian architect Tadesse Girmay in order to present the site and the project in different domestically and internationally connections.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/conservationinethiopia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/13-b.-Yimrehane-kiristos-church-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"13 b.
