MEKELE UNIVERSITY, located in the Tigrinian capital in the northernmost part of Ethiopia and is, after Addis Ababa University, the second largest in Ethiopia. It has, during the last decades, developed extensively. As regards EDUCATION and RESEARCH we plan to collaborate with the recently established Institute of Paleoenvironment and Heritage Conservation at Mekele University.

We have established close contact the Vice President Kindeya Gebrehiwot (seen in the middle of the photograph above) as well as with the Director of the above-mentioned institute, Ato Akliu Habtu, that have expressed there wish for a co-operation with SCECH.

A started discussion with representativs for Architecture at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, at which two of the members in SCECH are active, have opened for a possible, future collaboration.
